Hi gang! Kelly here, with my first article for the Saucy Mama blog. I asked Suzie and Colette if they wouldn’t mind me taking this particular post, only because I wanted to talk about a Fancy Food Show item that is near and dear to my heart.
My sweet 9-year old niece, Katie, recently was diagnosed with both a gluten and dairy intolerance. As you can imagine, allergies are tough on anyone, but are especially hard on kids. Especially incredibly social ones like Katie who love going to birthday parties, playing at friend’s houses, and generally socializing around a lot of food.
Needless to say when she found out her aunt was heading to a show dedicated to “special food,” she wanted to know if I might look around for gluten and dairy free treats she would enjoy. How could this aunt possibly say no, right?
Little did I realize how many incredible foods are available out there for anyone who faces allergy challenges or who wants to cut down on their gluten intake for general health purposes? So off I went into the show, stomach empty and camera in hand, to sample and shoot the best discoveries for my sweet girl. Yes, it’s a tough job, but someone had to do it, right?
So with that in mind, please enjoy some of these fabulous finds from the 2011 Fancy Food Show.
